After arranging our food workshop I was a little concerned for some staff we would be going over old ground. However I was delighted that the knowledge we gained was highly relevant, interesting and specific to our industry.

 

Fifty staff from five centres attended and were truly inspired by Rachelle's relaxed and fun manner. Staff left with a renewed understanding of the importance of handling food safely and the implications that may occur if we don't.

I recently did a Food Safety Supervisor course at Jimboomba. It was only a small class. I went along thinking that I knew a bit about food safety. Hey, I'm a Mum. I run a kitchen at a B&B....nobody ever got sick from my cooking or cleaning!!! How wrong was I!!! It's not just about cooking, I soon found out.

 

I learned so much over the two days that my head was spinning. Yes, I have become a kitchen nazi. I have taken control of my workspace and put a lot of rules in place. I don't know how long I'll be in this job but what I learnt from this course I can take to the next place or on my travels.
