The southern final of the Great Australian Sandwichship Competition is being held in early June prior to the National Final in Sydney in October. The winner of the National Final will then be the Australian representative in the 2011 World Sandwichship Competition.

The Australian competion is being run by the Australasian Sandwich Association  (www.sandwish.org.au). This is industry body was formed in 2010 and is the voice for cafes and sandwich shops aross the country and throughout Asia.

National Sandwich Week is also coming up, with the UK having it's week to recognise this staple in many lunches.
