The Food Labelling Review was established by Food Standards Australia New Zealand in late 2009 to conduct a thorough review of the labelling laws in the Food Standards Code. The Committee received initial comments and submissions during the first consultation period once it was formed.

The 5 March 2010 will see the release of a Consultation Paper from the Food Labelling Review. This will give the public and those in the food industry another opportunity to make submissions to the Review Committee.

The Paper will be found at the Review’s website, www.foodlabellingreview.gov.au. To give the public a full opportunity to discuss the Review itself or the Consultation Paper, the Review Committee will be holding public forums across both Australia and New Zealand from 17 March to 07 May 2010.
