The store that caused the"Soup Nazi" reopens

The sitcom "Seinfeld" had a character called The Soup Nazi", which was based on the "Original Soup Man" (Al Yeganeh).

He had a soup stall in New York for 20 years, and it has been reopened by the group that now owns . Although he is no longer directly involved in the running of that site or the eight others in the Original Soup Man group throughout the US (and another in Canada), Al does keep a close eye on things at the Manhattan site by camera.

Al was renowned for being touchy and moving customers quickly thgrough the purchase of his famous soups and broths. This was the basis of the "Seinfeld" character. The strict rules are still in place in all sites and the soups remain extremely popular.

The small cup serve goes for US$7 and the large size (just under a litre) sells for US$20. There is also an on line store at www.originalsoupman.com
